The jam starts Friday morning, opening at 10am.
The theme can mean a lot of things. Let's dump random interpretations!
- The world ends but it leads to something else. What comes after the end of the world? Is the world starting up again? Can we remake Fallout in 48h?
- What if, as in your example, "world" refers to the video game term, like world 1-1 in Super Mario. Does that mean we can just do a remake of the infamous minus-1 world from Super Mario Bros (it's infinite!). Or do you make a game where the flag always run further ahead of Mario, making it impossible to finish worlds? XD
- If the World's not ending, what is it doing? Is it beginning? Is it starting over? Is it running backwards Philip K. Dick-style?
- What world are we talking about? It's not necessarily Earth, you know. Could be another planet, another dimension, a world of fiction? Could be a super nerdy tale of an alternate universe where Alderaan is NOT blown up by the Death Star. Or something.
- Then there's the concept of infinite loops, but those who attended Global Game Jam earlier this year are probably tired of that theme. Enough Ourobouros for a year, pals.
- Let's make a bet on how many games are gonna be about destroying meteors coming straight to Earth! Impending boring doom!
