Because nothing—absolutely nothing—brings all the adults of consenting age to the yard like the promise of some unrelenting administration.
So what’s up? SO MUCH, cats and kittens! L’Arcade Royale is still a thing that needs to happen. Weekly gatherings are happening, even culminating in a mini game jam last weekend. And hey—speaking of game jams, the Toronto Game Jam is coming up in a month and a half!
So come on down, grab a pint, form game jam squads, brainstorm arcade designs, and relax amongst friends and Facebook acquaintances. When and where is this happening, you ask? We at the MRGS are a cunning, puzzle-loving folk, and so we’ve hidden the details right here in this very blog post!

As always, let us know ahead of time if you’ve got demos to share, and we’ll play them into the wee hours of at least 9:30pm.
Many moons ago (four), we postulated most heretically the possibility of getting together on a crisp Spring weekend to make merry, drink coffee, and work feverishly for three hours on arbitrary game prototypes—or at least, to familiarise ourselves with Unity.
An oracle was consulted; titles were chosen. Three hours later, it was all over. The dust settled. The smoke cleared. The noun verbed. The games revealed themselves to us, in no particular order (read: alphabetical order).

Fun times were had by all, and I think it’s safe to say that each of us learned a valuable lesson about peer pressure. Keep an eye out for future get togethers!
We don’t often mention it, but we have a Mount Royal Game Society Google Group.
Google Group.
This is the Google Group.
Through the technomancy of that Google Group, we occasionally get together on weekends for productivity/cram sessions, where people can co-inspire and/or co-intimidate each other into getting work done. It’s fun! And there’s usually coffee.
The suggestion was recently made that we have a “mini game-jam,” on the scale of the Klik of the Month jams; that is, about two to three hours. And it could happen THIS Sunday!
Head on over to this thread in our Google Group (did you hear? we have one!) and contribute enjoyable words and sentences!
