LES ANNONCES / ANNOUNCEMENTS

The ninth iteration of the Toronto Game Jam has been officially announced! April 25-27th, open to everyone, and rad as heck — if you can make it out, it’s one of the most enjoyable jams of the year.

Still in Toronto, the annual Bit Bazaar arts/crafts/games festival is Saturday May 11th, and MRGS has a booth reserved. Join the forum discussion if you’d like to be a part of our inter-city ambassadorship!

On cherche à organiser d’autres «meetups» hors d’un bar et plus axées sur des présentations à longue-forme; venez en discuter dans la page d’Organisation sur le forum!
=====
We’re looking to hold complementary meetups outside of the bar and more focused on longer-form presentations; check out the Organisation category on the forums if you’d like to take part in the planning.

Look at the DATGAM games! Look at them!

LES ANNONCES / ANNOUNCEMENTS
Le podcast Les jeux sont faits vous offre un regard sur la création, l’industrie, et la culture des jeux vidéos.

Applications are still being accepted for TAG Concordia’s Critical Hit incubator program; they’ll be teaming up with Dawson College for the Dawson Game Jam, March 14-16.

Join the discussions over at our new forums: follow the Organisation tag to watch and contribute to the org’s development, or just pop by and say hello.

DTGMA / DATGAM

Our trimesterly jubilee, the Downtown Trimester Game-Making Adventure (DTGMA), has been rechristened — say hello to DATGAM*!

Everyone’s invited to make a game based on one or more themes, and present the final product at next month’s meetup. Come out to the game jam on March 29-30 to motivate yourselves and others to put the finishing touches on the games. The March themes:
»» It burns!
»» Dinosaurs!
»» Canon!
Optional Bonus: Work with a first-time game-maker!

Join us and post your progress on the forum!

[* The acronym refers to such words as Downtown, Game, and twice the Adventure, in whatever order you see fit.]
